How long does a kitchen remodel take?
Typical kitchen remodel runs **4–8 weeks** from demo to final punch. Bath remodel: **2–4 weeks**. Custom cabinetry can extend the kitchen timeline by 4–6 weeks of lead time before demo starts — we order cabinets first so you’re not waiting mid-project.
Can I still use the kitchen/bath during the remodel?
Bath remodel: if you have a second bathroom, yes. Kitchen: we set up a temporary kitchenette (fridge + microwave + table) in another room during the 3–5 days the existing kitchen is offline. We plan this in the contract so you’re not surprised.
What does the $25,000 kitchen / $15,000 bath actually get me?
At the starting floor: mid-grade semi-custom cabinets, solid-surface counters, standard-line fixtures, and full labor for demo + install + finish. No corners cut on waterproofing or electrical — those are non-negotiable. Most of our kitchens land between **$45k and $85k**; most baths between **$22k and $45k**. Do you do tile work yourself or sub it out?
We have two tile specialists who have worked with Salem Builders for 3+ years. Both are background-checked and insured. We do **not** use rotating crews of day-labor tile installers — that’s where most tile failures come from.
What if I don’t love the finishes after it’s installed?
Selection happens **before** anything gets ordered. We walk you through the showroom, sample every finish in your actual light, and require your written sign-off on the spec sheet before we cut a check. If you change your mind after order, there’s a restocking cost — but you won’t be surprised by what shows up.
